FUTURE OF THE LOCKPORT PRIDE

We, Tim Ibarra and Stacie Haas (former 18u coach) are joining together to take the Lockport Pride to the next level as a softball organization.  There are many positive changes that will be forthcoming.  Most of these changes will have to wait to be implemented until next season, which will start with tryouts in July, however a few issues are currently being worked on now.

With that being said, going into the 2019-2020 season and future, the Lockport Pride will now have its own indoor facility for the entire organization to practice.  We will be utilizing the new "Rhino House" which is the indoor facility of the well-established and much respected Rhino baseball organization.  The new Rhino House dimensions will be anywhere from a 35,700-39,900 SF footprint building with another possible 11,000 SF in an upstairs batting cage space.  There will be a full sized infield with no poles and possibly up to 10 full size cages.  There will also be a 40 foot wide by 210 foot long track that can be utilized for many different things such as long toss, speed and agility or hitting space.

As an organization, we will be focused on your daughter's growth in fundamentals, individual skills and knowledge of the game of softball. There is so much more to softball than just the game itself when it comes to young girls.  We will also be teaching them how to grow as respectful, confident, polite, strong, disciplined young ladies/woman all while keeping the fun and love of the game.

Our new winter practice format will include instruction on hitting/slapping, fielding, pitching/catching and agility/speed/conditioning training in addition to the individual team practice.  All of these sessions will be fundamentally based according to their respective age groups.  The older teams (16u/18u) will also be doing winter crossfit sessions.  The older teams will be assisted by Stacie and Brenda in the college recruiting process, if your daughter wishes to pursue a goal of playing collegiate softball.  They will be assisting with making recruiting videos, writing emails to college coaches and college coach contacts.

With all that being said, we will be out this spring and summer to watch the girls play, introduce ourselves to you, if you don't already know us and "evaluate" the coaching staff to make sure our new organizational goals are being implemented.  We also have an open door policy and welcome any questions, comments or concerns you may have, so if you see us please don't hesitate to stop us and ask.
